Kindergarten Classroom Reveal!

I love reading all about everyone's classrooms this time of year! I might be a tad jealous, but while I don't have my own classroom yet, I do have a best friend who needed help setting up her classroom this summer!  And I was very happy to oblige!  I know. I'm one of those weird breeds that love the planning and organizing part of teaching. (I even like writing report card comments! Gasp!)

Tammy not only moved grades this year, she also moved schools AND subjects.  She is teaching Kindergarten in the mornings and Visual Arts (K to grade 8) in the afternoons. She spent over 40 hours cleaning, organizing and setting up her classroom and office.  The end result is perfect!

The front of the classroom.  All the toys and manipulatives are organized in these neat bins.  It makes me happy. Tammy and I are very much alike.

The reading corner.  I just love that little bench. She mentioned something about painting it, but because there's so much shuffling around with our school board and things could still change, she chose not to invest any more time (and money!) than she already has.

The little kitchen play area.  Tammy was very lucky to have several friends donate toys for her classroom.  A lot of the toys left from the previous teacher were in pretty rough shape.

The carpet are for morning work!

More toys!  Kindergarten is all about play-based learning!

Another view of the room.

As nerve-wracking as it is to start a new year in a new school and a new grade, I know Tammy will be amazing.  She is everything I aspire to be as a teacher.  I can't wait to see what she plans on doing with her students, and I even look forward to may being a substitute teacher in her class. :)

  1. Tammy's room looks lovely! My fingers are crossed for you that this is your year. My board is tricky to get into too with the new hiring procedures. There are more opportunities for teachers with French... But I hope things turn around for you ASAP.
